What is a Dyslexia Instance

Dyslexia instance is when any letter of the alphabet is similar to another letter of the alphabet when it is reverse, flipped, inverted, extraverted or turned or twisted.  The alphabetical letter will look like another letter and thus cause the reader or the “Dyslexic” to read the letter with a “b” instead of a “d” for instance.

  1. do mirror image writing children use their other hand? our girl, 4 , has always been right handed. she was showing me the letters she learned in preschool, and when I asked her to write her name for me she put the pen in her left hand and wrote her name in a mirror image. I then asked her to use her right hand and she wrote it correctly. is this a form of dyslexia? she is a very smart girl…no trouble with her school work or learning. we are very perplexed by this.

      This is a form of advanced thinking. Dyslexia was originally labelled as above genius IQ. Nasa and others agencies actually at one time seeked out those able to have this type of reverse image writing. Cartoonists also considered it a further advanced brain function in the early 1960’s.
      Dyslexia is being reclassified as a learning deficiency when in fact it was discovered by more of these types of functions that you mention. Like the ability to draw in reverse order with each hand or play piano in different rotations using opposite hands at the same time.
      Encourage the use of multi function rather than get freaked out by the ability and you never know how much contribution the child will contribute to society as they live out their life.
